Fear, uncertainities, and threats to security in the Middle East should not be underestimated. Unresolved conflicts over territtories and resources have to be addressed effectively.

Jordan is situated at the "strategic core" of the Middle East. Its geopolitical centrality and role as regional stabilizer are crucial.

The future will bring high demands and opportunities for regional cooperation on issues ranging from weapons proliferation to managing the environment and natural resources.

Nowadays, and more than any other time before, "regionalism" is concerned not only with peace and security issues, but also with economic and social matters. These are indeed the broad objectives of establishing CMC-Amman.
